The Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) Founded in 1955, the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) is the largest and oldest national body representing the physiotherapy profession in India. With over 100,000 registered members, IAP is a pioneer in advancing the scope, recognition, and quality of physiotherapy practice across the country.
IAP’s mission extends beyond clinical practice—it actively leads in policy advocacy, legal reform, education standardization, and inter-sectoral engagement. The association works closely with ministries including the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, AYUSH, Social Justice and Empowerment, and Women and Child Development, as well as with WHO-SEARO and various state governments.
